Derech Eretz: Building Character and Building Society In this five-session course we will examine some of the Jewish texts that teach us about Jewish Ethics. The term Derech Eretz means more than just “manners,” but extends to talk about common sense, common decency as well as the larger context of proper ethical behavior. Among the topics we will explore will be what Judaism has to say about: Derech Eretz in family relationships, Derech Eretz in the public and private domains, Derech Eretz in politics, Derech Eretz of leadership, Derech Eretz of materialism. Mondays: October 15, 22, 29, November 5, 19. Class meets 6:45-8:15pm preceded by an optional supper 6:00 pm ($10)
