Stories of Music is an adult education project of the Lowell Milken Fund for American Jewish Music at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and the curriculum was developed in partnership with the Cantors Assembly, the American Conference of Cantors, and the Milken Archive of Jewish Music. Each class explores the essential questions: What are the components that “define” Jewish music? What social, historical, economic forces influence Jewish music? How does Jewish music both shape, as well as reflect, my own Jewish experience? Participants are welcome to attend only the classes that interest them, or all seven sessions.
