Our community worships using the Mishkan Hanefesh machzor. It comes as a set of books (one for Rosh Hashanah and one for Yom Kippur). Please click here to purchase. Sets can be picked up from the Temple Office. Loaners are not available.

SCHEDULE OF High Holy DayS Services  5783/2022

at Evanston Township High School Auditorium, 1600 Dodge Avenue, Evanston  (unless otherwise noted)

(In order that we may provide sufficient disabled parking spaces at ETHS, please call or email the Temple office with your request)

* Indicates that service will be at Temple Beth Israel 3601 Dempster St, Skokie

 

On these High Holy Days we will be returning to in-person worship.

All attendees may be required to wear a mask. Additional COVID protocols will be updated as needed. In order to accommodate those unable to attend in person, we will LiveStream our services. Please access these services on the TBI Skokie YouTube Channel.

Please be sure to bring your tickets with you to ALL services.

 

SELICHOT ~ PREPARATION FOR THE DAYS OF AWE

*Saturday evening, September 17 at 10:00 p.m.

Preceded by Study Session with Cantor Cohn at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets not required, however Pre-registration is required for non-ticket holders

 

ROSH HASHANAH ~ NEW YEAR

*Sunday September 25, Early Childhood High Holy Days Service at 4:30 p.m.

 (Geared for families with children infant-first grade.) This service will not be LiveStreamed

Non-ticket holders are welcome and will need to pre-register or to register at the door.

Sunday, September 25, Evening Service at 8:15 p.m.

Monday September 26, Children’s Family Service at 9:00 a.m.

This service will be held in the Cafeteria at ETHS and will not be LiveStreamed

Non-ticket holders are welcome and will need to pre-register or to register at the door. 

Children’s Family Service attendees are encouraged to use the rear parking lot at ETHS to aid with traffic flow

After the service, programming will be available for children (ages 3-9) whose parents wish to attend the adult service in the Auditorium

Monday, September 26, Morning Service at 10:30 a.m.

*Tuesday, September 27, Second Day Rosh Hashanah Service at 10:30 a.m.

Non-ticket holders are welcome and will need to pre-register or to register at the door. 

Followed by Tashlich Observance.

 

SHABBAT SHUVAH ~ SABBATH OF RETURN

*Friday, September 30, Kabbalat Shabbat Service at 6:05 p.m.

*Saturday, October 1, Morning Service at 10:30 a.m.

 

YOM KIPPUR ~ DAY OF ATONEMENT

Tuesday, October 4, Kol Nidre Service at 8:15 p.m.

Wednesday, October 5, Children’s Family Service at 9:00 a.m.

Fall Family Fair 4:15 p.m., Pizza in the Hut Supper at 5:15 p.m., followed by Service at approximately 6:00 p.m.

*Monday, October 10 ~ Morning Service 10:30 a.m.

 

SH’MINI ATZERET/SIMCHAT TORAH

Sunday, October 16 ~ Erev Simchat Torah Service, including Consecration at 6:15 pm; preceded by 5:30 pm Supper

Monday, October 17 ~ Morning Service at 10:30 a.m. Including Yizkor

Kiddush Lunch to follow
